About Jon Bishop

Hello, I’m Jon Bishop, a curious, creative technologist with a passion for pushing boundaries, especially where tech meets human connection.

I started in the early days of the internet and I’ve never stopped exploring. I just want to build things that engage, simplify and bring a bit of value.

I believe in challenging what needs challenging and rethinking the norm when it falls short. My career has been anything but linear, but if there’s a common thread, it’s my drive to explore the unknown and find my own truth. From web development and AI to immersive experiences and social patterns, I’m driven by a love for creation without pretense or limitations.

Right now, my wife and I are calling Denver home, trading the North Shore’s coastline for the laid-back charm of mountain towns. We spend weekends finding spots with great views, easy trails and dog-friendly places to eat for us and our dog, Sammy.

I’m half Puerto Rican on my mom’s side, with family still on the island, some of my favorite moments are when we all get to see each other. My entire family, both Puerto Rican and stateside, have always been a grounding force for who I am.

I’m an avid gamer and musician, diving into Rocket League, Call of Duty and experimenting with Ableton. I love challenges, brain teasers, puzzles and even magic tricks. My curiosity drives my love for travel and experiences, especially at music festivals.

This site has been evolving for as long as I’ve been posting. It began with Flash tutorials and downloadable effects back when Flash ruled the web, then shifted to covering personalized marketing strategies in a B2B context. As social media took off, I was all over it, writing about the early days of social marketing and the shift it brought to digital strategies. In 2008, I moved everything to WordPress, diving into plugin development and creating tools that, for a while, gained some traction.

These days, while I still cover WordPress occasionally, my focus is on creative technology, AI, and the experiments that keep this field fresh. You might still come across old posts about those early plugins (now with notes about more up-to-date options), but today, my blog reflects what I find most interesting now.

This site is both a portfolio and a personal space where I share my thoughts, projects and experiments in tech and life as I see it. If you’re here to connect or just curious to learn more, welcome – I’m glad you stopped by.
